Hey Everyone,

I'm noticing a LOT of works submitted in the wrong categories and wanted to clear things up. I would like to speed up acceptance of submissions, along with making my life easier when going through each submission.

-NEVER SUBMIT TO FEATURED- These are randomly chosen and anything submitted, no matter how well done, will be automatically declined, no if's and's or but's.

-Characters / Characters2- The focal point is your character, usually just a character model with either no background at all or limited background.

-SciFi- For science fiction characters, scenes, spaceships etc. (Star Wars, Star Trek, TRON....etc.)

-Scenes- Are the complete package of character(s) background, a fully realized idea or concept.

-Fantasy- Elves, Fairies, Goblins, Knights, Angels...etc.

-Machina- Robots, Mecha-related, mechanical fighting machines..etc.

-Air Land Sea- self explanatory; planes trains and automobiles... motorcycles and boats too!

-Building / Arch- Interior and exterior design

-WIP / Continuous- Show your work in progress and overall progress on pieces. 'Uncompleted works that are being worked on or updated'

-Prop Asset- Objects, everyday items, guns...etc.

-Abstractions- Fractals, and abstract work

-Landscape- self explanatory...landscapes....

So,

Before you hit that submit or 'contribute to folder' button, double check where your submitting your work to. General rule of thumb, I look at how you submitted your work to DA. You submit a work as "Digital Art / 3-Dimensional Art / Characters / Animals & Creatures" it'll go to the "characters" folder. YOU uploaded it as a character so that's where it goes, pretty simple?

Another example:
"Digital Art / 3-Dimensional Art / Objects / Technology Related" since it's an "object" it belongs in the "Prop Asset" folder.

"Digital Art / Fractal Art / Fractal Manipulations" = Abstractions

"Digital Art / 3-Dimensional Art / Scenes / Futuristic & Sci-Fi" = Sci Fi

"Digital Art / 3-Dimensional Art / Scenes / Fantasy" = Fantasy

I understand there will be some pieces that may cover multiple categories, use your best judgment and if in doubt just ask me!

Hope this helps everyone understand submitting work and it'll speed up getting your work approved!
Fellow Artists,

New pieces have been chosen to be featured! Really some amazing pieces in there so make sure your checking them out.

To provide some clarification, our "Featured" works a bit differently than traditionally. Here's a breakdown of how it works;

-Work cannot and will not be accepted directly or submitted to the "Featured" gallery.

-Works are chosen at RANDOM (I double check to make sure the work adheres to our rules).

The "Featured" gallery represents the group and all our efforts. It's the first gallery visitors are exposed to and view. Having it display various styles, skill levels, techniques and the vast amount of talent everyone brings to the table, greatly sets us apart and defines the group.
Hey everyone,

Here's an indepth look at the new film "Oblivion". The video is 21 minutes in length and worth the watch. It hits every aspect from concept art to VFX with comments. Interesting was the 'no green/blue screen' method in the filming process.

"It has detailed information about the world of "Oblivion" the shot locations, the stunts, the props, and the combination of practical and CGI effects including a stunning look at the sky tower that has an amazing 360 degree screen to capture the look of being in the clouds. "

The official statement from Disney (which recently acquired LucasFilm and LucasArts) reads as follows:

"After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles."

150 LucasArts employees have been laid off already, and that the following games; "Star Wars: First Assault" and "Star Wars 1313" have been cancelled.

Disney says this will not effect the current projects in the film division Lucasfilm.

Personally, I'm sad to see them go. Regardless, from the fact that the last game they produced was "Kinect Star Wars" (which was bad...real bad).

Here's a list of some of the best produced by Lucasarts:

-The Secret of Monkey Island
-Star Wars: X-Wing/TIE Fighter
-Sam and Max Hit the Road
-Day of the Tentacle
-Grim Fandango
-Star Wars: Battlefront
-Star Wars: Republic Commando
-Zombies Ate My Neighbors
-Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

RIP LucasArts 1983-2013
Sorry for the wait and I appreciate everyone's patience.

I'm currently trying to take care of some some personal matters and they are taking longer than expected. Everything regarding the group has the green light, I just need to take a moment before I can roll them out. This will not affect the submission process or day to day of the group. Just no major updates until matters are settled and I can devote more time to accomplishing the group's goals and upgrade.

Wanted to thank everyone that's been a member and also thank those that have recently joined us.
Thank You and Welcome, I hope you enjoy our group, contribute, create and inspire.

In the meanwhile, please let me know what you think so far. I would prefer honest opinions and suggestions to help improve the group while we grow!
